The philosophy

Skin health is the foundation.

Radiant skin grows from the fundamentals of rest, movement, nourishment and community, in whatever form those take in your life. A facial can't replace them, but it can offer an hour of attentive touch that supports them.

01

Built around touch

Every facial is bespoke and massage-focused, drawing on myofascial release, lymphatic work, and sculptural and lifting massage.

02

Unhurried by design

One room, one practitioner. The hour is yours, with time for a real conversation before anything begins.

03

Never sold to

You will never hear your face described as a list of flaws, and you will never be sold something you don't need.

Bespoke facials

Choose your time. Kristy does the rest.

There's no list of named facials to choose between. You select the length of your appointment, and each facial is designed around your skin's needs that day.

The name

A workshop, and a heroine.

An atelier is an artist's workshop, a place where things are made slowly and by hand. Viola is the heroine of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, who washes ashore after a shipwreck and meets everything that follows with patience, humor and remarkable tenderness.

"I named this studio for her because I, too, have come through a kind of shipwreck and arrived somewhere new."

The studio

Light from above, quiet all around.

A private second-floor suite in a 1905 building, with a skylight over the treatment bed and room to breathe.
